Do you take Conservatives who rant about how Barney Frank and Chris Dodd ruined the economy seriously?

Why do they leave out Phil Gramm and Alan Greenspan? Why don't they give accountability to the bankers who made loans to people who couldn't pay them back not because they were ';forced'; by the gov't, but because they wanted to resell the loans to foreign investors for a profit?

If you listen to these Limbots, you'd think that Fannie and Freddie were the only two banks to suffer from subprime woes. What about WaMu? Bear Sterns? Lehman Bros? AIG?Do you take Conservatives who rant about how Barney Frank and Chris Dodd ruined the economy seriously?
Yes, Fannie and Freddie and other banks hurt the economy by making bad loans. Then there's the bailouts. Not that the war was good for the economy either. It took both to tank it.Do you take Conservatives who rant about how Barney Frank and Chris Dodd ruined the economy seriously?
Franks and Dodd did play a pivotal role. The ranting can get delusional, but it's not unfounded.

The thing with Gramm is, he initially wrote the policy, which Clinton wanted, at that point few were predicting that it could crash the economy. Gramm's Commodities Modernization Act wasn't even the only law that contributed to the problems. If you fast forward 4-8 years later, many were predicting this crisis; Dodd and Franks were aware of these predictions, yet the advocated to keep the laws in place. The only incentive for them to do this was the fact that they were getting kickbacks for it. They (somewhat) knowingly steered America in a bad direction for their own gain.
And who do you suppose forced those bankers to make those bad loans in the name of diversity. I rest my case TOOL. For the record I opposed Bush on the TARP spending, let em go bankrupt, f' em, that's what I say. Clinton put it on steroids, Carter started it, Bush helped it along with TARP as did Fwank and Dodd, now Obama just doubled it. Actually Sean Hannity pins part of the blame on Bush so there you go...
I think they all had a hand in the poor economy but Chris Dodd and Barney Frank are extreme hypocrites. They should be called out and be made to pay for the part they played in this mess. They act as if they had nothing to do with it and they want others to take the blame and go to jail. I think they hope that if they make a big enough stink about other people than everyone will forget about them. Political slight of hand.
When people talk politics they will almost always leave out what ';their guy'; did or didn't do.

The bankers came up with the reselling of the loans as a creative way to actually make a profit for what they were practically forced to do.

There is plently of blame to go around, but a huge portion of the blame goes to Barney Frank %26amp; Chris Dodd.
Well, the cons want the American people to forget about the real culprits in this economic mess. So they throw up a smoke screen named Chris Dodd and Barney Frank. If I recall, Chris Dodd is just a senator, not someone who is in charge of a corporation that hands out bad loans. But logic cannot be used against the cons, they will never believe the truth unless it fits into their little mold.
or even Bush for that matter. There is a whole list of people from both sides but they get these obsessions %26amp; can only see what Fox or Rush tell them. They have no clue as to how to see the whole picture on any subject. The are the afraid part. The conserve, the hold back, they are afraid to let go. So this is part of their mind set. We all have heard Barney Frank explain things %26amp; if he is so guilty what kind of wimps or losers are they to not go after him. All talk %26amp; no action. Just like them claiming Obama is not a citizen.. Well, why blame dems. Republicans need to do something about it if they are so smart.
Yes I know the entire story of the failure. There are levels of involvement. From what the stenographers (press) type, it really is difficult to get the whole story correctly at one place. There really are no more journalists anymore. Only stenographers. I used to feel for folks like you. Now, I loathe you. Your blindness has helped to get us here.
They all had a hand in it. The difference is, Frank and Dodd are still running the ship.

Scary, isn't it?

I think we should have let all the banks and AIG fail. Period.
I blame everyone in government on both sides who had a hand in it. There is a lot of blame to go around. Do you have your personal finances in order?
Fannie and Freddie were playing catch up. Listen to the show below for honest reporting on what happened.
Generally, I don't take them seriously.

I'm guessing most of them don't even know who Phil Gramm is.
I take the truth seriously, so yes. That is part of the truth.

Don't ignore it, just because you're a Lib.
To many people listen to O'Reilly you know everything that went wrong was Barney or Dodd's fault I agree they were partly at fault but so were a lot of Reps and Dems
Why would I do that?

I don't take seriously anything that comes out of a conservatives mouth.
No more serious than those who keep blaming Bush for everything..
Or for Bill Clinton for pushing it through... Yes Frank, Dodd and Clinton combines killed this nation.
No, I don't. As you've pointed out, those conservatives are not looking at the whole picture.
But Seriously...They did. Hand over the KoolAid please.
YOU CANT PAY THE MORGAGE

if u LOST YOUR JOB

can u
NO. If people actually took the time to listen to Barney Frank they would realize that he has their best interests at heart. Sure he made mistakes with mortgage market, but he is trying to make up for it every day.
