How do you delete recent contacts on the samsung rant?

when you go to text and hit ';send to'; a recent contacts list comes up but i have found there i no way to delete any of these contacts. does any one know how?How do you delete recent contacts on the samsung rant?
actually i have a rant too and no there is no way to delete the contacts after you text message but if i do or you figure it out let me know or i'll let you know. thanks.
