How to set music as ringtone with Samsung Rant?

I have a samsung rant. I just downloaded some music from my computer onto my phone using the Mass Storage stuff, but how do I make it a ringtone (for texts)? Some people said to text the file to yourself, but does that cost extra (I only have regular texting, no internet). Thanks in advance. How to set music as ringtone with Samsung Rant?
