I am no pro athlete by far, but I played football, baseball, and wrestled years back. I know that I have seen teams on the other sideline self destruct, and it always put a smile on my face and felt like it took the weight of the world off of my shoulders. You feel like you got'em, and you could go out and have fun and win it.
Don't you think this would have the same effect? If you were a Yankee, would you be inspired by the Cole Hamels hopeless rant?
Yeah kinda. But he's just saying that because his team is down in the series. But hell yeah, I feel like I got them when I hear a hopeless speech like that. However, the Yankees can't have too much fun till they actually win it.If you were a Yankee, would you be inspired by the Cole Hamels hopeless rant?
Id say so... It shows he has no hope left, and he shouldn't because the Yanks ARE winning the series.
i would never be a yankee
Doubt it. Really seems to be a media-created non-issue and I think the Yankees players will realize that.
ARod and Andy Pettitte took steroids.
One player does not constitute the whole team's attitude. If Hamels attitude had rubbed off in any way, the Phillies wouldn't have pushed it to a 6th game. (Or made the come back in Game 5 which unfortunately Lidge blew.)
However, I also have played sports my whole life; and seeing a dejected opponent is like open season on them. Why I believe, Cole Hamels shouldn't be anywhere near a Game 7. Even if he pitched well, the Yankees would go in extremely hungry and eager like sharks in the water. Well, maybe not A-Rod but you get the point.
Do you ever feel like flying?
