How do i put video from a samsung rant onto computer?

When i 1st connected the 2 with the cord i got with the phone, a popup came up to install the devices, and i installed the devices needed. But i cant seem to transfer anything. I dont think it detects the devices. Is there a different way to install them or a different way i should go about transferring the videos?How do i put video from a samsung rant onto computer?

Take the memory card out of the phone and put it in a card reader connected to your computer.
